What’s the big news?

They have completely redesigned the idea of a Timeline.

The Timeline is essentially your new profile page and will summarize your activities based on time and frequency. You will have a chance to look back into the years on facebook as they will collect data to show you all the intricate details of your life - all the things you’ve shared on facebook since you joined.

How will they do this?

Open Graph is a brand new language for how people connect. Now you can connect to anything in any way you want.

• Frictionless experience: new open graph apps aadd activity to your timeline without you having to do it - eliminating the middle man. If you give the app access, it will post to your timeline automatically.
• Realtime serendipity: You can see what your friends are doing live - activity is updated in the ticker. Always you to listen to music or watch a movie with your friends at the same time. 
• Finding patterns: Discover great new things by looking through patterns of your friends activity. Facebook will summarize your friend’s favorite music, movies and stories.

I got a chance to begin testing it out early, and I love it.

Facebook will launch these new features slowly. It is in beta and will be available to developers immediately. The re-design is scheduled to go live on Thursday the 29th. Sign up to receive it before everyone else here.
