Mashable posted an article today unveiling yet another Facebook feature that may or may not be rolled out to the public.
Google+ never really took off for me, but some people really love it. Facebook must still be worried that G+ is one of their major competitors… and the introduction of Friend Lists will help bridge the gap between the two social networks.
So what’s a Friend List? (these photos were pulled from Mashable)

Friend Lists are Facebook’s version of Circles. You’ll be able to group your friends, see their updates exclusively in your news feed, and post updates directly to them.

Smart Lists are a little creepier. These ones automatically update themselves into co-workers, friends you went to school with, and people within 50 miles of you. This is Facebook’s way of shoving G+ against the wall and saying “Anything you can do, we can do better (or creepier).”

Sharing to Specific People - which is basically what it sounds like. You can choose exactly where your status updates, photos, or links go and who can see them.

The right hand side of your newsfeed will display your list and the people included in it, while doing what Facebook does best and “guessing” who else should be in there.
The addition isn’t terrible, and it only makes the site more user friendly (sort of).
Facebook has not disclosed when this new feature will be made public.
Thoughts? Would you like to see the new Friend Lists and Smart Lists on Facebook?
